I get a lot of requests for skyblock and the main reason why I turn them down quite often, is the fact that the requesting people don't exactly understand the idea or the philosophy behind skyblock, so I thought I'd write down the most important ones.
- Resources should be farmable while being AFK but not while being offline.
- A lot of people ask about minions or other ways to earn something while you're offline and that's a lot of work for the server to do, most plugins are paid and it's just not the idea behind our skyblock. I hope you understand that <3
- Teleportation pads or similar means to teleport around will most likely not be added.
- There are other ways to achieve the same goal such as water elevators for the y axis and being pushed around on water (potentially with ice beneath you) for the x and z axis, so please use those instead.
- Obtaining resources while you're AFK is embraced on Skyblock, so we have nothing against it.
- We do not want to rely on unintuitive or difficult mechanics of the game!
- This already starts with the generators. Skyblock normally revolves around a cobblestone generator with water and lava but way too often have we seen people that struggled creating one and it ended up in them creating obsidian instead. This is why we rely on easy to understand generators that you can't screw up as easily. The same should be done with other mechanics.
- Another example would be seeds. While you can get seeds by first getting a mob farm, then killing skeletons for their bones, turn that into bone meal and then use it on grass to get seeds from grass, that might not be something every Minecraft player knows and thus it's unintuitive and excludes those players from progressing. It's still possible to go through that process but this is also the reason why we have added seeds to the shop, so you can alternatively just save up enough money... or save that money for something else if you go the skeleton route.
